DESIGN WORK

Design Brief

Once we have discussed your requirements, we will draw up a design brief setting out the scope and limits of the work together with the agreed price. Print4u will do our best to meet your needs and to be flexible.  However, once we have agreed to a design brief, additions and changes that fall outside the brief will attract an additional charge.  Additional charges will also be made if you wish to make changes to artwork that you have already approved - so please check artwork thoroughly before you approve it!

Copyright

Unlike many designers, Print4u will hand over copyright of your final artwork on receipt of payment for the job.  The one exception being that we reserve the right to use images of your artwork within our publicity materials.

You are only paying for the final design.  Any other artwork or concepts developed in the course of designing your final artwork will remain the property of Waye Forward Ltd.

PRINTING AND ARTWORK

CMYK and ‘Spot’ Colours

Artwork must be supplied to us in a press-ready PDF (font embedded) format, in CMYK with a minimum 300dpi resolution. We process jobs in CMYK format as standard. We cannot take responsibility for colour reproduction of RGB files, or files supplied outside of the specifications given. Any ‘spot’ colours will be converted to CMYK as standard. If a specific ‘spot’ colour is required, this must be specified at the time of ordering and will attract an additional fee

Colour Variations

We print to standard ink densities in a ‘ganged up’ format as standard. Variations in printing can exist. We will not be held responsible for any variations in colour, either from previous products supplied by us or from work provided from a third party. Also note that variations may exist due to the nature of the paper or lamination chosen. However, if a colour match is required for consistency with other products, a printed sample MUST be supplied to us. Please note, we do not hold samples of previous work.

Proofs

We will print your artwork as you supply it. We do not proof read artwork, nor do we check artwork for date validity or expiration. Please view all proofs carefully. We will not be held liable for any mistakes in artwork, once the proof has been approved. You can just send back an email stating “OK TO GO TO PRESS’’ by doing this you are accepting our terms and conditions.  Please note, we do not accept responsibility for incorrectly supplied email addresses, which may result in a delay in soft copy proofs being sent to you.

Bleed

There should be a 3mm bleed around the finished artwork. We will not be held liable for errors generated due to insufficient bleed.

Alignment

In order to finish and/or align your job professionally, we may need to trim jobs during the finishing process. We will proceed with a trim if the finished job dimension is altered by less than 1%. However, if the finished job needs to be altered by more than 1%, we will contact you for approval to proceed.

Changes to Proofs: Errors and omissions are corrected free of charge - but changes not on the original instructions will be charged for.

Timescale: Time in artwork can not be deducted from the printing timescale, some jobs because of their style or complexity take longer than our standard quoted times. Please try to understand that if your job takes a little longer it is necessary and that this is the most important stage of the whole process, if we take a little time and get things right now you will have an effective item which will last you for some time.
